[9] Just like old times...

I'm feeling exceptionally good today. I'm not certain why.

[Filtered to Cathedral:]
Lilith, the medicine worked wonders. Thank you for all your help these past few days. Please, if there's anything I can do for you in return, don't ever hesistate to let me know.

[Filtered to Chrno:]
Chrno~ It seems like ages since I've last spoken to you. I heard through the grapevines that you were sick as well. How are you feeling?

[Aion helped Lilith in and stepped on foot in before glancing back towards Chrno...]

...Chrno? Chrno!?

[Quickly scanning the area in search of his friend, the ride attendant pleaded for him to quickly get inside. The sinner reluctantly got in and sat down across from Lilith as he sighs and looks out the window.]

Geez, where did he run off to?

[Lilith stood from her seat but she was forced back when Aion made himself in. Perhaps... it was better this way.]

Why did he leave? He's so small, we could have given him space to sit with us.

[Chrono watched as Aion was forced to take his seat in the ride, biting his lip to keep from laughing. They had no idea. Perfect! It was best to have them caught off guard--it was more fun that way.

He slipped between the bars that kept the people in line and out to where he could watch as the car carrying his friends began to rise in the air. He put his hand into his pocket and pulled out his palm pilot, quickly typing out a message to send to Aion--]

"Hey,

It was looking a little crowded so I thought I'd let you ride and find another place to watch the fireworks. I'll meet up with you when your ride is done!

Oh, and Aion--careful. She might not look like much, but you have no idea what she's capable of! She might be too much for you to handle. (But if she's not, then good luck!)

[Scratching his head in confusion, Aion glanced towards Lilith before feeling his pocket vibrate. Pulling out his cell phone, he read the message to himself. He raised an eye brow in amusement before breaking into a chuckle and then a laughter. He eventually recovered and sighed as he placed his phone back into his pocket.]

Ha ha ha, idiot. Using my line. That smart ass. Being considerate where it's not needed.

Your line?

[Lilith shot him a glance.]

Was that Chrono, Aion? What did he say?

[Aion nonchalantly waved his hand at her as he sat back and relaxed in his seat.]

He said he'll meet us down there once the ride is over. Something about it being too crowded.

[Lilith didn't believe him, but she didn't pursued the subject. Everything went as she wanted: they were split before the curse ended. She looked at the window outside and stared at the people]

How is your world like, Aion? This City marvels me. How come we're so different and we're able to live at relative peace. I wish the people of my world learned this lesson.

[He briefly closed his eyes before opening one to look at her as she spoke. He thought about it. 11:50. The deeper he thought the more serious he looked. The sinner finally opened his mouth to stoically answer her.]

It's similar to this one... Relative peace, huh... It may seem that way and yet it's not... Not if you're left to fear... To being bound to such ideals set by... set by... [He slowly trailed off as he closed his eyes and grimaced. 11:52. He clenched his head again, hunching over.]

Grr... This headache again...

Fear? Aion?

[Lilith stood, balancing on the car swinging motions, and walked to him.]

Let me see. What is hurting you?

I'm not sure. Just my head rings when I think about certain things...

[He looked up at Lilith coming towards him. 11:55...]

I see. [She placed a hand over his temple, trying to take his temperature] You don't seem feverish, take it easy and I would give you something when we return home. Alright?

[As soon as she finished to speak she heard a noise and her head turned to watch the sky over the amusement park alight in colors.]

Ah, the fireworks.

[12:00. Game over. Aion quickly snatched the hand on his temple as he slowly opened his eyes. A low growl escaping him, the sinner glanced at Lilith as he gravely spoke.]

About fucking time I came out of that...

[Lilith didn't make a move to pull from his grasp nor did she seem very surprised when she addressed him calmly.]

Welcome back, Aion. How are you feeling?

[Aion deeply stared at her as his grip slightly tightened around her wrist.]

You fucking knew this whole time, didn't you?

[Anger built up inside.]

Of course I did. Why else would I miss my shift in the Hospital to follow you and Chrono and assure you wouldn't be together when midnight strikes?

[She replied without missing a beat.]

That was the only thing I could do while you were cursed. The alternative was sedate you and lock you somewhere. Which one is preferable to you? I was worried, so I played along.

[Aion showed his fangs as he growled in fury.]

A curse again... A fucking curse!

[The demon stood up as he threw her wrist back towards her. A firework lighting half of his face.]

Those DEITIES... GRAHHH!!

[Aion clawed the side of the ride, leaving a deep streak denting one of the walls.]

[Lilith took a few steps back and sat on her side of the car, saying nothing, allowing Aion to take it out his chest.]

I'm sorry it was so terrible for you.

[Aion turned towards the window as he adjusted his glasses. Deadly eyes staring out to the people below and a small figure running off into the distance.]

I'll make them pay...

Can we return home?

[She asked quietly after his display. It wasn't too late for her to return to the Hospital.]

Go on ahead... I have something I need to take care of first...

[As the ride ended at the bottom, Aion broke open the door and stepped out, walking off towards the exit of the park.]

[Lilith followed him.]

Wait. Aion! I came with you to help and I won't leave until I know you're safe back home. If you're angry... [She paused.]
Take your anger with me. Don't do anything suicidal, please.

[Frustration building further, Aion swiftly turned back towards her, his face only inches away from hers as he glares down at her.]

I said to fucking go home...

[Hearing her suggestion, he narrowed his stern eyes as he gravely spoke.]

Very saintly of you, Lilith... Sacrificing yourself in such way...

[He brushed his fingers against her cheek.]

And what if I were to take that offer...? Do you really think you'd stop me?

Don't underestimate me by my appearance, Aion. Saintly you say, without knowing what "Saint" means to the world I come from. Perhaps I don't seem so...

[She stood her ground, looking at him seriously, but her statement and voice kept in a quiet, polite way]

I volunteered myself already, I knew the consequences when I came to this ride with you and him. What is stopping you? Unless you believe I am too much for you to handle.

[Perhaps. He knew exactly what she was capable of, at least from what he's seen at the tournament. Aion gave a smirk and removed his fingers off her face with a clean sweep. He hated to admit it but without his sword at hand and jewels, even the raged demon knew just how suicidal it was. Letting out a low growl to let out some steam, he placed his hands back into his pockets.]

I'll never understand why you care so fucking much...

[Aion turned to walk out as he spoke.]

Come on. We're going home.

Ah, that's because you can be endearing to worm yourself into fondness.

[She said with a smile, walking beside him. Of course, she was teasing but she was also serious.]
