[9] Just like old times...

I'm feeling exceptionally good today. I'm not certain why.

[Filtered to Cathedral:]
Lilith, the medicine worked wonders. Thank you for all your help these past few days. Please, if there's anything I can do for you in return, don't ever hesistate to let me know.

[Filtered to Chrno:]
Chrno~ It seems like ages since I've last spoken to you. I heard through the grapevines that you were sick as well. How are you feeling?

[He sighed, taking a gulp from his glass before setting it aside for now. It was best to pace himself, after all. He leaned over slightly when Aion looked at his watch.]

What time is it?

[He weakly smiled with a light chuckle.]

It's getting pretty late. Eleven already. We better head to the Ferris wheel if we still wanted to fit that in too. I think I also saw a sign that said there were going to be fireworks tonight. It should be nice seeing it from up there.

[Eleven, she had to move quick to avoid a fight.]

At what time would be the fireworks?

[Chrono glanced back and forth between Aion and Lilith. Fireworks, huh? Hmmmm...]

I think I saw a sign for them...near midnight, right?

Yea. We should get going in case there's a long line.

[Aion finished his drink and stood up.]

[Lilith ~~being the ONLY one with a job~~ paid for the drinks and stood after Aion]

Alright, well...[Chrono got up and stretched, then walked out the bar, looking around for the Ferris wheel. While he looked, he started to come up with a plan. A little surprise for his best friend...]

Thanks Lilith.

[Aion followed after Chrno, in order to search for the ride. Lightly yawning into his fist, he got in line as soon as they were there. He stared at the bright lights illuminating the area with a serene smile.]

It's pretty big.

[Lilith followed them and waited in line for their turn. If this took enough, Lilith could find an excuse to buy candy for Joshua and the kids and drag Aion or Chrono away with her to help her while the other remain in the line.]

The line seems to be intimidating. I wonder if we will even make it.

[Chrono smiled, leaning against the bar as the line slowly moved forward.] A lot of people get on at once. It might go faster than we think.

Chrno's right. It won't take too long.

[Gradually the line shortened as they talked amongst themselves until it was soon their turn to get on. Approaching the ride, Aion offered to let Lilith go in first as he gestured towards their car with a smile.]

Ladies first.

[It was now or ever... She had to come up with an excuse to drag one of them-- Aion's sudden remark foiled her and she had no option but to put a smile and bowed her head]

[Here. This would be it. A nice, romantic ride in a Ferris wheel to see the fireworks.

If there really was something there, this would be the perfect time to help it grow, right?

Chrono hung back behind Aion carefully. Luckily, there was only enough room for the two of them. Then he could duck out of the way and tell them he'd see them after they got off. Perfect.]

[Aion helped Lilith in and stepped on foot in before glancing back towards Chrno...]

...Chrno? Chrno!?

[Quickly scanning the area in search of his friend, the ride attendant pleaded for him to quickly get inside. The sinner reluctantly got in and sat down across from Lilith as he sighs and looks out the window.]

Geez, where did he run off to?

[Lilith stood from her seat but she was forced back when Aion made himself in. Perhaps... it was better this way.]

Why did he leave? He's so small, we could have given him space to sit with us.

[Chrono watched as Aion was forced to take his seat in the ride, biting his lip to keep from laughing. They had no idea. Perfect! It was best to have them caught off guard--it was more fun that way.

He slipped between the bars that kept the people in line and out to where he could watch as the car carrying his friends began to rise in the air. He put his hand into his pocket and pulled out his palm pilot, quickly typing out a message to send to Aion--]

"Hey,

It was looking a little crowded so I thought I'd let you ride and find another place to watch the fireworks. I'll meet up with you when your ride is done!

Oh, and Aion--careful. She might not look like much, but you have no idea what she's capable of! She might be too much for you to handle. (But if she's not, then good luck!)

-Chrono"

[Scratching his head in confusion, Aion glanced towards Lilith before feeling his pocket vibrate. Pulling out his cell phone, he read the message to himself. He raised an eye brow in amusement before breaking into a chuckle and then a laughter. He eventually recovered and sighed as he placed his phone back into his pocket.]

Ha ha ha, idiot. Using my line. That smart ass. Being considerate where it's not needed.

Your line?

[Lilith shot him a glance.]

Was that Chrono, Aion? What did he say?

[Aion nonchalantly waved his hand at her as he sat back and relaxed in his seat.]

He said he'll meet us down there once the ride is over. Something about it being too crowded.

[Lilith didn't believe him, but she didn't pursued the subject. Everything went as she wanted: they were split before the curse ended. She looked at the window outside and stared at the people]

How is your world like, Aion? This City marvels me. How come we're so different and we're able to live at relative peace. I wish the people of my world learned this lesson.

[He briefly closed his eyes before opening one to look at her as she spoke. He thought about it. 11:50. The deeper he thought the more serious he looked. The sinner finally opened his mouth to stoically answer her.]

It's similar to this one... Relative peace, huh... It may seem that way and yet it's not... Not if you're left to fear... To being bound to such ideals set by... set by... [He slowly trailed off as he closed his eyes and grimaced. 11:52. He clenched his head again, hunching over.]

Grr... This headache again...

Fear? Aion?

[Lilith stood, balancing on the car swinging motions, and walked to him.]

Let me see. What is hurting you?

I'm not sure. Just my head rings when I think about certain things...

[He looked up at Lilith coming towards him. 11:55...]

I see. [She placed a hand over his temple, trying to take his temperature] You don't seem feverish, take it easy and I would give you something when we return home. Alright?

[As soon as she finished to speak she heard a noise and her head turned to watch the sky over the amusement park alight in colors.]

Ah, the fireworks.

[12:00. Game over. Aion quickly snatched the hand on his temple as he slowly opened his eyes. A low growl escaping him, the sinner glanced at Lilith as he gravely spoke.]

About fucking time I came out of that...
